At Charles Schwab, he was known not only for his deep understanding of difficult financial material but also for his ability to teach it—often drawing on the whiteboard to help colleagues master abstract content. This natural gift for teaching has been a throughline in his career.

He served as an instructor at the San Francisco Wharton School, and more recently, as a STEM teacher at a parochial school in Novato for two years. For the past four years, he has worked as a substitute teacher across multiple Marin County school districts, including general education and Special Education classrooms, supporting students from transitional kindergarten through high school. His flexibility, patience, and insight allow him to connect meaningfully with students across a wide range of abilities and needs.

"Mr. Wollin took over my position as the classroom teacher in the special day class at Tamalpais High School. I had the opportunity to mentor and observe him. Lawrence supported students with moderate to severe needs, including but not limited to their health and physical (medical, mobility, hygiene and self-care) cognitive, behavioral and emotional well-being. He also facilitated inclusion opportunities, from Unified Sports tournaments to 1:1 peer mentors and everything in-between.

He supported and fostered students from different classroom settings to bridge gaps in academic, social, and communication skills between the Special Education students and their General Education peers.
